Brownfields Training

Get trained and certified in brownfields remediation!

Apply to join our free career training program. Information sessions are held every Tuesday at 1pm (arrive by 12:30pm) at the Baltimore Center for Green Careers. For more information, call (410) 929-6120.

As a Brownfields Training participant, you will learn to safely and effectively clean up industrially contaminated sites. You will work with local Baltimore companies that require brownfields clean up and redevelopment.

Participants enrolled in our training program earn federal and state recognized environmental health and safety certifications.

If you are interested in applying to the training program, you must meet the following criteria:  

  • 18 years or older
  • Pass a drug screening
  • Able to pass a respiratory exam
  • Willing to work on roofs & in confined spaces
  • Be a Baltimore City resident
  • Attend a mandatory information session

Participants who successfully complete the program are eligible for job placement assistance. Most entry-level positions offer family sustaining wages, benefits and the opportunity for advancement, with an average starting wage between $12 and $16 per hour.
